The 1924 Brownlow Medal was awarded to Edward 'Carji' Greeves of Geelong, who was adjudged to have been the best and fairest player during the 1924 Victorian Football League home and away season. It was the first time that the Brownlow Medal, now the most prestigious award in the league, was presented. ==Voting system== The voting system used in the 1924 Brownlow Medal was as follows:〔 * The field umpire awarded one vote to who he adjudged was the best player on the field. * The player that finished with the most amount of votes would be awarded the 1924 Brownlow Medal. * In the event of a tie, the players with the most amount of votes would both receive a replica of the medal.
